If El Gringo gets hit by a bang card and plays a beer to regain his last life point can he still take a card from the player that played the bang card on him?

I vote yes. In my opinion, anytime he loses a bullet and survives, he gets to take a card.

I agree

From Gringo text: "each time he loses a life point..."

From Beer rules: "This card lets a player regain one life point..."

So when Gringo is hit, he loses one Life point and his ability triggers, then he regains the life point thanks to the beer.

Q18. Does Burt Cassidy or El Gringo draw a card when he loses his last life point â€“ so if itâ€™s a Beer, they can save themselves?
A. No, if they lose their last life point without a Beer in their hand, they are dead. However, if Burt Cassidy plays immediately a Beer card from the hand, saving himself and remaining alive, he will be able to draw the card due to the lost life point.

While Cassidy is specified in the FAQ, Gringo is not

But for the same reason I guess it's ok for Gringo too.
